The Heritage we have in Christ
Is the legacy we can leave
Our families and friends
The History of Heritage Church
In September of 2007 a vision for this church was born of three couples desiring a new worship experience; a traditional church with the mature (adult) and seniors specifically in mind---a church to reach out to our community sharing Christ and growing in Christian fellowship. After prayerful consider Pastor Gerry and Nancy Mathisen were asked to stay in Green Bay and with these six people, plant New Covenant Community
Church.
At the start the belief was that NCCC would be an inter-generational congregation ministering in the Green Bay area. However, over the next four-and-a-half years the people who gathered each week were empty-nesters, middle-age and senior adults.
In the fall of 2012 Pastor Gerry and Nancy realized the plan God had for NCCC. This vision was presented to the members; a church for second-half-of-life worshippers. A church with emphasis on the needs and concerns of that generation--- divorce or divorce of their children and grandchildren, death of a spouse, grandchildren’s issues, and their own health and mortality. This was precisely the church NCCC had become without our doing. It was God’s design!
The membership voted to change the name of the church to Heritage Church defining the legacy we desire to leave our family and friends; a life committed to Jesus Christ and His Word. We desire God’s continued blessing as He adds to our number. We love God and each other and our goal is to see others come to a personal relationship with Christ.
Heritage Church is a different concept than the typical family church, but a concept for a very special and worthy group of people. Come and be part of a new experience in congregational worship.
